Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by gently tapping the cooled, hard-boiled eggs on a countertop to create fine cracks in the shells.
- In a bowl, mix water with 1 teaspoon of black food coloring gel and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, then soak the cracked eggs for at least 3 hours.
- After soaking, carefully rinse the eggs under cold water to remove excess dye. Peel the eggs gently to keep the spiderweb patterns.
- Cut each peeled egg in half lengthwise and scoop the yolks into a mixing bowl. Mash yolks with mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Transfer the yolk mixture into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off. Pipe the filling back into the egg whites.
- Sprinkle smoked paprika, black sesame seeds, or chopped chives on top of the filled eggs. Serve chilled.
