Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and warm a 9x13-inch baking pan for about 5 minutes. Melt ½ cup of butter in the pan until bubbly.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 cup of granulated sugar until smooth. Mix in 1.5 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 0.25 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon until just combined.
- Spoon the batter carefully over the melted butter in the baking pan, creating a layered effect.
- Sprinkle 0.75 cup of brown sugar evenly over the batter and pour 1.75 cups of hot water over the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden and the edges are set.
- Combine 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle over the cobbler as soon as it comes out of the oven.
- Let the cobbler cool for 10-15 minutes before serving warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes
Avoid overmixing the batter and ensure to maintain proper layering for a gooey center. Adjust cinnamon to taste.
