  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced salami can swap for turkey or chicken
  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced ham can use smoked turkey
  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced pepperoni spicy sausage is a good substitute
  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced mozzarella cheese provolone can be used for sharper taste
  • 6 ounces Deli-sliced provolone cheese fontina is an interesting substitute
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
For the Veggies
  • 1 cup Roasted red peppers, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup Banana peppers, sliced
  • 1/4 cup Fresh basil leaves
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red pepper flakes omit for milder sandwiches
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Baked Italian Grinder Sandwiches
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the Italian sub rolls in half lengthwise and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, melt the unsalted butter and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the seasoned butter onto the cut sides of the rolls.
  5. Layer deli-sliced salami, ham, and pepperoni on the bottom half of each roll.
  6. Add mozzarella and provolone cheese on top of the meats.
  7. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  8. Layer roasted red peppers, sliced black olives, and banana peppers on top of the cheese.
  9. Add fresh basil leaves atop the veggie layer.
  10. Bake the sandwiches for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is golden.
