Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup colorful sprinkles

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter along with granulated and brown sugars until creamy and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then blend in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry blend into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop portions of the dough using a tablespoon or cookie scoop and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are firm and the centers are slightly soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
