  1. Begin by taking a medium bowl and adding the softened cream cheese. Using a hand mixer or a spatula, blend the cream cheese with garlic powder and dried basil until the mixture is creamy and smooth, about 2–3 minutes.
  2. Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a shallow serving dish or pie plate, using a spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom.
  3. Dice fresh mozzarella into small cubes and scatter it evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Dice cherry tomatoes into small pieces and layer them over the mozzarella.
