Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, add 1 tbsp of olive oil and sauté ½ cup of finely diced onion and 1 clove of minced garlic for 3-5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of sausage meat, sautéed onion and garlic, 1 tsp each of dried sage and thyme, ¼ tsp each of ground black pepper and salt.
- Roll out thawed puff pastry and cut into rectangles approximately 4 inches by 6 inches.
- Place a portion of the sausage mixture on each pastry rectangle, fold and seal the edges, and brush with beaten egg.
- Cut the rolls into smaller pieces and place on a lined baking sheet, brushing the tops with more beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and serve warm.
