- Start by placing a 2-4 pound chuck roast at the bottom of your slow cooker, positioned flat.
- Sprinkle 1 packet each of ranch dressing mix and au jus gravy mix evenly over the roast.
- Arrange 8 whole pepperoncini peppers around the roast, and pour 1/4 cup of pepperoncini juice evenly over the top if using.
- Place 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter directly on top of the roast.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours without opening the lid.
- After 8 hours, shred the meat with two forks directly in the pot and mix it with the juices.
