  • 1 cup Canned pumpkin puree Fresh purée can be used for added freshness.

  • 1 pound Ground sausage Substitute with plant-based sausage for vegetarian option.
  • 2 pieces Caramelized shallots Onions can be used if shallots are not available.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano Can be replaced with Italian seasoning.
  • 1 cup Fontina cheese Mozzarella or provolone are good substitutes.
  • 1 cup Whole-milk ricotta cheese Cream cheese can also be used.
  • 5 leaves Fresh sage leaves Thyme or rosemary can be substituted.
For Finishing Touches
  • 2 tablespoons Extra-virgin olive oil Neutral oil can be used instead.
  • 2 tablespoons Hot honey Regular honey or chili oil are alternatives.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté sliced shallots for 4-5 minutes until softened and translucent.
  3. Add ground sausage to the skillet, crumble it and cook for 6-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Place naan breads on the lined baking sheet and spread canned pumpkin puree evenly over each, sprinkling with dried oregano.
  5. Layer with melted fontina cheese, crumbled sausage, and sautéed shallots. Dollop with ricotta cheese.
  6. Drizzle fresh sage leaves lightly with olive oil and scatter over topped pizzas.
  7. Bake the pizzas for around 15 minutes, checking for a golden-brown crust.
  8. Remove the pizzas from the oven and drizzle hot honey over each for a sweet finish.
