  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Packed for added moisture.
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar For topping; can use cinnamon-sugar blend.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon For topping, enhances flavor.

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
  3. In another bowl, melt the unsalted butter and whisk together with buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just blended with some lumps.
  5. Mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon in a small bowl for the topping.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle some cinnamon sugar topping, pour the remaining batter, and top with more cinnamon sugar.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
