Tender BBQ Ribs inspired by The Simpsons, perfect for a delicious feast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the ribs, covering both sides evenly.
  4. Place the ribs on the prepared baking sheet, bone side down. Cover tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.
  6. While the ribs are baking, mix the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until warmed through and well combined.
  7. After baking, remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Brush a generous amount of the BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs. Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
  9. Once caramelized and sticky, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, consider using a smoker instead of the oven.
  • You can also add a splash of liquid smoke to the BBQ sauce for an extra kick.
  • For a sweeter twist, try adding brown sugar to the spice rub or using a honey BBQ sauce.
