- 2 cups Mandarin orange juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 cup water
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the Mandarin orange juice, lemon juice, and orange zest. Mix well.
- Once the sugar water has cooled, add it to the Mandarin orange mixture and stir until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- Before serving, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to soften slightly.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, consider adding 1/2 cup of coconut milk to the mixture before churning.
- You can substitute the Mandarin orange juice with other citrus juices like blood orange or tangerine for a different flavor profile.
