Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups cooked white rice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
Stir in the lemon juice and cook for an additional minute.
Serve the garlic butter shrimp over the cooked white rice and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the shrimp in a mixture of lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil for 30 minutes before cooking.
Substitute the white rice with quinoa or cauliflower rice for a healthier option.
