  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly torn
  • 1/4 cup high-quality olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, sliced red onion, minced garlic, and torn basil leaves.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, sea salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Drizzle the dressing over the tomato and onion mixture and gently fold everything together until evenly coated.
