Ingredients
Scale
2 slices of sourdough bread
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, honey, and cinnamon until well combined. Spread this mixture on the unbuttered side of one slice of bread.
Layer the grated cheddar cheese and fresh blueberries on top of the cream cheese mixture. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing in half.
Notes
For a sweeter twist, add a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top before serving.
You can substitute the blueberries with sliced strawberries or raspberries for a different flavor profile.
