- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a greased baking sheet. Brush the melted butter over the surface and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Evenly distribute the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the dough.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then cut into sticks. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
